It would be easier to say what is right with our companies than to attempt to tell you what is wrong with them. I can not think of anything that is right with them, so here is some of the things that are wrong with the companies of today. Where does one start when there is no ending? Management, CEO’s, board of directors, shareholders and employees are some on the list of wrongs. The list of wrongs continues with other things that are caused by society in general and are not directly the fault of the companies. These things are EPA, OSHA and the impact of a newer generation. I decided to start at the top and work my way down the list. CEO’s are the biggest problem, no one person should be paid the amount of money that they get. These overpriced slime balls are not interested in doing what is best for the company. Their only concern is to do what is best for them. They are short range thinkers and only do what works for the short run. In the end these CEO’s only hurt the corporations and leave their mess for the next slime ball to finish running the company to the ground. The CEO will only do that which will line his pockets and companies future is know concern of theirs. Board of directors is the second group of self indulgent idiots. The proof is what they pay the CEO. A companies profits should never be used to pay the CEO these enormous salaries. The share holders are the clear loser, pay these CEO’s less and give this money to those which it rightly belongs. Share holders are next on the list. Why would one buy stock in a company that over pays some slime ball to milk the company? Share holders your return on your investment would be more if there wasn’t an overpaid slime ball getting your money. Wake up and invest in some company that pays its employees better and not gives its profits away. Management is those that can not do and now tells others what to do. Often these people are the ones that make the work place, a place you can not stand to be. Have you ever wondered where that awful smell comes from at work? These are the creatures that omit that odor. It doesn’t come from the product being made as they lead you to believe. I am the hardest on this group because I have seen their stupidity first hand and been a victim of their reign. Their only interest is to make life at work as miserable as possible for the employees. They don’t want you to know more than them and they will do whatever it takes to protect their job. Management will never hire anybody smarter then them and they seek out those that are no threat to them. They are determined to be king of the outhouse and will let nobody replace them. They are the trash that somebody forgot to take out. The company and its employees are the losers. Employees are a part of the problem with what’s wrong with companies today. When one hates his/her job their work is reflected by this. Pride in ones work will not happen when one cannot wait to escape from hell. There are other factors that make employees a problem and some of this brought about by society. People are getting lazier, in fact work is considered by some as something one does when there is nothing better to do. Another problem is that society looks down on those that were once respected. Skilled labor wasn’t the bottom of the barrel, today people think if one gets dirty that they must be homeless. I have gotten several meals paid for, merely eating lunch in my work clothes. I can’t believe that working is seen as being homeless. Have we become so lazy that somebody that works is considered as a person in need of help? OSHA, EPA, and labor unions are not any help to corporate America. They are in fact part of the problem as well. In a global market one can’t compete with nations that don’t have these hideous things. When one has to comply to so many things, it is impossible to produce a product cheaper than somebody without all these regulations and requirements. Society in general is problem that plaques these companies. As I mentioned earlier people are becoming lazier and this has an affect on companies as well. The people that started most of these companies are no longer living and the next generation is in charge, they do not posses an passion for the company. These companies are merely an object in which they own. There is no founder of the company to lead it to his next vision and only one that has a desire to conquer defeat will remain. There is no passion, creativity, imagination, flexibility or drive in the corporate world anymore. This is the biggest down fall of companies and America is paying the price, for the lack of this. Those that stared these companies had these characteristics and they would not like the direction companies have chosen to go. I am positive that I did not even begun to cover all that is wrong with our companies today. I hope this opens the eyes of those that have been sleeping.
